Involvement of External Experts: Participation and Feedback

How do I involve external experts?

External experts are invited to the study program conferences and asked to provide their assessment of the quality criteria. In advance, the experts are provided with documents about the study program to enable a realistic assessment, and anagreementis signed that regulates, among other things, remuneration, data protection, and conflicts of interest. Feedback from the external experts is documented in writing—ideally through written feedback from the experts themselves, but at minimum through approved minutes of the SGK that clearly assign statements to specific persons or roles. Please refer to the Guide for External Experts in the OVGU Quality Development System and the Agreement with External Experts within the OVGU Quality Development System.

External experts receive an expense allowance; please refer to the agreement.

What do the reports from the external experts look like?

External experts attend the SGKs and evaluate the study program together with students, teaching staff, and the ZQB. The quality exchanges are documented in minutes and made available in Qurricula. The assessments of the external experts recorded in the minutes or written feedback are equivalent to an expert report. Since OVGU does not require separate expert reports from external experts, their assessment must be clearly documented by role in the minutes or as a separate written statement. Templates are available for this purpose, including in the form of a survey.
